Trough my opinion, I think they both have amazing voices.. It’s hard to choose between the two of them, their voices are very different from each other.. Charice has a strong voice where she can blow the audience away, and Gita has a soft voice where the audience feels touched.. Hard to choose.. ^^

just watched one of the videos of the girl from indonesia that you’re talking about and her voice is ordinary.Very ordinary. Nothing special.. A lot of young girls all over the world can do it and even better. All she has is this falsetto that’s not really amazing. Mediocre. Nothing special. And by the way, please stop using Charice to introduce your girl to the world. Do it clean.

The voice of the gilr from Indonesia is so ordinary…The high notes are very shaky and her falsetto is bad. Nothing extraordinary. Mediocre..Nothing special.A lot of girls ca n do better than that..Cookey sucks!!!

The first time I saw Gita Gutawa is when she was 5th grader, singing “Yang Terbaik Untukmu” duet with Ada Band. She has amazing voice with sopran. Great. And now his song with “Sempurna” is great. His performances always supported by his father, Erwin Gutawa, a musician too.
The first time I saw Charice is when she sang in Ellen Degeneres Show in YouTube. That’s a brilliant voice
When I compare Gita and Charice, I think Charice is better. She has amazing voice with powerful and wide-ranged voice. But also Gita has it, except the powerful voice. She has the slow one. But one thing, slow but sure.

I vote for Gita…. whom didn’t make my ear hurt… Sing with feel, not just technique. Charic have opportunity to show in Oprah show because her prducer have a lot of money and connection, an music industry in phillipine are not as prmising as Indonesia. In Indonesian singer are lazy to enter music market in another country simply because are safer and feels not necessary to going through another country.

. Yea, tha’t quite wonderful and blowing,….technically. But like many other phillipine singer, they’re have a powerful voice with high technique, but lack of feel. If all of you watch carefully and compare between Indonesian and Phillipine’s singer, tha’ts the main difference. Indonesian singer not praise voice technique as almighty requirements for make a nice performance, like many phillipine’s singer does. They also shows voice character, and for the most important, feel of the song itself. Maybe you want to search in youtube for Indonesian singer named Chrisye, or Ruth Sahanaya, even kids at “Idola Cilik” seems trained like that.
So, don’t judge it all with power and technique. Because the most i mportant thing are to entertain and make people love you with your voice and your song. I think that’s the way of Indonesian singer, and Indonesian music ideology.

they’re different but they have great future ahead… and if I’m not wrong Gita got Grand Prize in INCSF, and If I’m not wrong too Charice got prize but below Gita, and many judge surprised, charice is a an odd at this festival, but the judge surprised by Gita’s quality so they awarded that award to Gita, maybe charice more exprencied than Gita cause she have show in hollywood, but Gita starting her way to go international, and i think she have a quality to get it…
but anyway they have same quality… and they can’t compared each other, cause their style quite different, and I think they can be southeat asia duty in future, to show we have a great singer…

I didn’t want to reply but reading all your post just makes me lmao. Why compare these talented kids against each other? Who do you all have to prove to who the best singer is? You all have your favorite and opinion who’s better, but the bottom line is they are all talented. Someday they will all get their recognition. There is no need to compete and hate on each others country to prove you have the best. It’s ridiculous. Be happy for them and respect them. Charice and all the other Indonesians including others around the world are great talent. They are not the answer to how great you think your country is.

i go with charice…. never heard of gita…i first saw charice in her starking video and i am blown away… dunno why, but charice is the only singer in the world that made me goosebumps! I love her song Note to God… So touching song… cant stop listening to it…I love all her performances! For what i know, Charice NEVER competed in any INTERNATIONAL SINGING COMPETITION…Charice came from a poor family and cannot afford to join singing contests abroad…She only competes locally in her country joining amateur contests in order to help her mother in supporting their family because her father left them after a violent incident which Charice witnessed at a tender age of 3 years old…. The biggest singing competition Charice joined was a TV singing competition entitled Little Big Star… She was only third place in this contest (although she’s the best) for the judges think that she is not pretty enough for showbusiness and because of low text votes… =( ( the judges are bad, it’s a singing contest not a beauty contest)…
It was not until 2007, when an avid supporter named Falsevoice posted a video in youtube that garnered millions of hits (which was deleted bec. of copyright thing). Unlike other artist she started in a very rough road…. but this did not stop her… I admire Charice for her beginnings, her persistence in life, and most of all her voice… ^_^

Everybody, JUST CHILL. Stop comparing..WHY COMPARE? What’s with all these comparisons between artists?? I know the main reason and that’s to SHOW OFF. Honestly, what do you get from comparing these two? Superiority? It doesn’t make sense. Just praise these 2 young ladies for doing what they do best, which is SING. Just let their careers go on their own path. Gita is doing her thing in Indonesia & possibly around Asia, and you never know, possibly be heard all throughout the world. JUST LET HER CHOOSE HER OWN CAREER PATH. As for Charice, she’s living her own dream. She’s doing her thing. She’s producing her own international debut album which is out in January 2010.
